Priorities
Things David believes — not a platform, because he's not running.
Reminder: these are not campaign promises. David Watson is not running for City Council. These are just things he believes as a resident of Mountain View, presented here to show what a real candidate’s platform could look like in this template.
1. Mountain View should have room for everyone
David believes the city can’t have room for everyone without more homes — so he speaks up at council, talks it through with his neighbors, and backs candidates who’ll vote for housing near jobs and transit.
- He shows up to comment when housing is on the agenda.
- He tells his neighbors why more homes is a good thing, over and over.
- He is not, however, running to cast those votes himself.
2. Streets that are safe for everyone
David rides these streets, so he wants them safe and connected — protected bike lanes, safe routes to school, intersections designed for people.
- He pushes for it as a resident and a constituent.
- He supports candidates who’ll actually build it.
- He is not one of those candidates. He is just enthusiastic.
3. A local government that delivers
David likes city hall to be fast, honest, and open about how decisions get made.
- He reads the budget. For fun. As a hobby. Not as a candidate.
- He emails his elected officials when service standards slip.
- He’ll happily vote for someone who’ll fix it — that someone is not David.
4. A cleaner, greener Mountain View
David wants parks, tree canopy, and a livable climate as the city grows — and he champions all of it.
- As a volunteer, a voter, and a neighbor.
- Not as a candidate, because — say it with him — he is not running.
Care about an issue that isn’t here? Tell a real candidate. Or tell David; he’ll pass it along.
